Amy Foley, Provisional Psychologist

BA, PgDipPsych, MProfPsych

I am a provisionally registered psychologist working under the guidance and supervision of Melanie Waugh as part of my sixth-year internship. I graduated from the Master of Professional Psychology course at Australian Catholic University in 2016. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from Victoria University of Technology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology from Queensland University of Technology.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I provide both therapeutic and assessment based interventions with clients of all ages with a range of needs. My approach to therapy is flexible, and I tailor sessions and treatment to the individual needs of my clients. Therapeutic approaches I use include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-Based interventions.  I currently work at Melanie Waugh Psychology on a part-time basis.

Experienced in administering a range of psychological assessments, I can assist clients in gaining information about specific cognitive, behavioural, or academic needs and provide comprehensive reports including recommendations for support in academic, educational, and occupational settings.

My previous experience has included working in the Australian Catholic University health centre and in Brisbane Catholic Education schools where I developed strong clinical skills in psychometric assessment and therapeutic interventions with children and adolescents. I also have over three years’ experience providing case management and support to individuals injured in motor vehicle accidents and workplace incidents. I also currently work in occupational rehabilitation, where I support clients with their rehabilitation and return to work.

Some of my personal interests are reading, shopping, going to the beach, playing with my pet dogs and spending time with close family and friends.
